Young & Foodish

When walking round Cotham it can be easy to overlook this small, unassuming cafe tucked away between charity shops and take away stores but if you're looking for a spot of lunch then look no further than Young & Foodish. Offering a simple menu filled with wraps and salads it's not the fanciest cafe in Bristol but the food is all freshly prepared and served with a smile.

After careful consideration I chose to order the pulled pork wrap with salad (chosen from the selection behind the counter) and a can of elderflower lemonade. While we waited for our food we got talking to some regulars who didn't have a bad word to say about the place, quite rightly complementing the decor and ambient music, noting they often play some of their favourites such as Leonard Cohen.

When our food arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the portions. My wrap (pictured) was stuffed with pork and roasted veg and the salad on the side was delicious, who knew Kale could taste so good?! The food came with sweet chilli dressing which was the perfect accompaniment and I finished feeling truly satisfied.

The cafe also offers a great selection of breakfast items, cakes and coffes/teas, so definitely worth a visit any time of day. Grab yourself a loyalty card on your first visit for a free drink after 10, and for all you students out there flash your student card for 10% discount.
